Reflecting on 2023: A Year of Unfinished Resolutions and Unexpected Joys

As the clock strikes midnight, bidding farewell to 2023, I find myself caught in a whirlwind of thoughts, wondering where the year disappeared to. It feels like just yesterday that I was enthusiastically setting resolutions, promising myself that this year would be different. Yet, here I am, grappling with the reality that many of those goals remain untouched, buried under the fast-paced flow of time.

The ambitious list I crafted for 2023 seemed like a roadmap to personal growth and achievement. However, as the months unfolded, my attention veered towards unexpected diversions. Chinese dramas and anime became my solace, transporting me to worlds far beyond the confines of reality. Weekends that were earmarked for self-improvement and diligent work toward resolutions often succumbed to the allure of captivating storylines and fictional realms.

Amidst the unmet expectations, a silver lining emerged – the joy of spending quality time with friends during the birthday meetup and festive season of Christmas. While my resolutions took a back seat, the warmth of companionship and the laughter shared over dinner became the highlights of the year. It was in these moments that I discovered the importance of connection and the irreplaceable value of genuine human interactions.

Yet, amidst the haze of unfulfilled resolutions, one aspect of my year stands out like a beacon of accomplishment – my involvement in volunteering for National Parks on beach patrols. The decision to dedicate my time to preserving the natural beauty of our coastal areas brought a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Patroling the shores and contributing to environmental conservation became a source of pride and a reminder that meaningful achievements often lie in unexpected corners. Helping to build awareness, educate, and increase the appreciation of marine creatures. Especially when I was awarded outstanding volunteer during the year-end volunteer appreciation day.

As I embark on a new year, I carry with me the lessons of 2023 – the realization that life's path may not always align with our meticulously crafted plans, but in the detours, we find unexpected treasures. While resolutions may have taken a back seat, the journey itself has been filled with valuable experiences, personal connections, and the satisfaction of making a positive impact through volunteering. Perhaps, in the ebb and flow of life, resolutions are meant to be flexible guides, allowing room for spontaneity, growth, and the discovery of unforeseen joys.

Cherishing my health and staying happy is the minimum and most essential part that I hope to accomplish for the new year's resolutions and many years to come.

"Keeping Cats Safe and Sound: The Advantages of Indoor Living in Singapore"

Safety: Keeping cats indoors ensures their safety by protecting them from the hazards of a dense urban environment, such as busy roads and potential accidents. It reduces the risk of cats getting lost, injured, or encountering dangerous situations outside [1].

Considerate to neighbours: Cats can cause inconvenience to neighbours when allowed to roam freely. They may shed fur, defecate or urinate in public areas, and make caterwauling sounds. Keeping cats indoors helps maintain good neighbourly relations and prevents disturbances caused by unsupervised cats [1].

Public health and hygiene: Indoor cats reduce the risk of spreading diseases, parasites, and infections to other animals and humans. They minimize issues related to cat fur, feces, and urine in public areas, promoting better public health and hygiene [2].

Improved traceability: Licensing and microchipping of pet cats enhance traceability and accountability for cat owners. This helps in responsible cat ownership and ensures that cats are kept under appropriate care [2].

Proposed cat management framework: The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) in Singapore has proposed a framework to improve the management and welfare of cats, including licensing and microchipping of pet cats, and sterilization and rehoming of community cats. Keeping cats indoors aligns with these efforts to promote responsible cat ownership and better cat management in Singapore [2].

By keeping cats indoors in Singapore, their safety, the well-being of the community, and the implementation of responsible cat ownership practices are prioritized.

"Caring for Singapore's Stray Cats: Promoting Responsible Ownership and Community Harmony"

Introduction:

Stray cats in Singapore face a challenging and often harsh life, with many living in drains, construction sites, or abandoned by irresponsible owners [1]. While their presence is a part of the urban landscape, it is crucial to understand the importance of responsible cat ownership and creating harmony within the community. By addressing the issue of stray cats and promoting proper care, we can ensure the well-being of these feline friends and foster a compassionate society.

Now, let's explore the key points regarding stray cats in Singapore:

Understanding Stray Cats:
Stray cats, referred to as community cats, are commonly found in various neighborhoods [3].
Removing cats should only be done if they are in immediate danger, as it may lead to other cats taking their place [3].
Sterilization plays a vital role in managing the population and preventing unnecessary breeding [3].

Feeding Stray Cats:
It is permissible to feed stray cats; however, it is essential to clean up afterward to prevent littering [3].
Feeding should be done using cat food, away from high human traffic areas, and at ground level [3].

Adoption of Stray Cats:
Rehoming organizations provide opportunities for adopting stray cats, but potential adopters must consider long-term commitments and financial responsibilities [3].
Installing suitable grilles and meshing ensures the cat's safety indoors [3].

Promoting Community Harmony:
Harmless deterrents, such as wire or plastic meshes, can be used to prevent strays from entering private premises [3].
Understanding and respecting the presence of stray cats contribute to a harmonious coexistence within the community [3].

By emphasizing responsible ownership, sterilization efforts, and community engagement, we can work together to create a nurturing environment for stray cats in Singapore. Through education and compassion, we can make a positive difference in the lives of these vulnerable animals.

It's not simple to say..

Most days I don't recognize myself, in this situation with the words I chose in conversation with people I love. Sometimes I feel I was a born natural to make someone angry. Frequently, on many occasions through the years, it would cause misunderstanding and got my loved one angry and hurt people, I used to call friends. And I don't even feel the need to explain myself, in my mind, I felt that if he who really loves me will forgive. Until now, I've yet to find someone that has forgiven me. Not many people know how I really feel and think cause no one have the patience to stay longer.
Sometimes I feel I'm reckless just enough and end up meeting the wrong people and get used by a man who can't love me. I get stuck and be scared of life and I get bruised all over again, time after time. I'm not anything like I used to be, I never like to meet people anymore, because I would never really know what to say or use the right words. For years, it didn't help, it is like a defend system I have to get rid of anyone who cares because deep down I know they will leave me one day in pain.
I was imperfect but I have a good heart and would not harm anyone. I'm lonely most of the time, craving for someone who would pamper me without reason, but I am too afraid to meet anyone new. I really hate myself sometimes and more than once the thought of killing myself occurs, luckily my sense of responsibility to my family and work kept me going.
I break down and cry many nights.  I may be broken, I may be struggling inside but I need to move on.

Almost 2years on...

It is almost coming to the end of Q3 2021, yet today we are still looking at how Covid-19 have affected us globally. Some countries are getting the 3rd waves or 4th due to variants of covid while others are still struggling and locked down measures in place in hope to stop further spread

Countries with high vaccination rates are slowly implementing small steps to open up domestically but with stringent measures for travelers.

Some business strive while other, even the traditional heritage businesses have called it the end of their era. During this period, I've learned and adapted to being by myself and tend to get some social anxiety instead when there's a need to meet. It has been so long, that conversation with people you know seems to be awkward at some occasions. Hopefully, this is just temporary and we can slowly learn to be how we are before. For now. Stay safe and hope that we fight off covid globally.

Last Day of Y2020...

Today is 31 Dec 2020, the last day of an uncertain whole year, where everything seems to be unknown when the covid-19 pandemic hit the globe.

The unknown virus bought fear, anxiety, depression, and a lot of uncertainty in life. Humanity was brought to the test. Family and friends were forced to keep their distance from one another to keep safe. Some took this great time to pamper themselves and relax. Alone time gave people more time to think of their desires. Couples get the opportunity to be more intimate, but not all end up well. Family time was too much for some to handle. Of course, there are also many great stories of people coming together helping the vulnerable overcome the pandemic situtation.

While others go the other way and fall into the depression of loneliness and fear of getting sick. In such times, we get to know more about what we fear and cherish. And hope we have learned and know better to handle it in the coming future. The numbers of infections remain high and uncontrolled, in another part of the world, and with mutation of more infectious of the virus was reported, we may still need to combat the covid-19 for another year at least before we can see better times and pick up of the economy. For now, we do what we can and must. Staying positive and keep our mind saint.

The lockdown of countries and borders kept families apart, business at a standstill, frontline struggles, and humanity fear. While mother earth, wildlife has a break from human intrudes and strive during those periods of locked down. It may not be much significant in the long term, but it shows us, humans, how much we had meddled in their lifestyle and environment. it has brought a lot of awareness to climate change and wildlife conservation. Human is now more appreciative to nature and conscience of their health.

Being the end of the year and tomorrow a world new chapter of the year. Wishing all joy, happiness, peace, and a healthy new year 2021.

The World at a standstill / Covid-19

During the pandemic, everything changed. The virus that spread globally not only it is easily infectious, the death rate was high too. Many countries were caught off-guarded or un-prepared when it hits their shores. Fake news and rumors spread vitally, no one knows what is real, the government had to step in and create an official website for the public to get access, subscribe and be informed.

Life was on a standstill during the locked down, public rushing for food supply and daily household stuff before the locked down as if the war is here. Frontline, essential services, food provider and supply chain were the few services that are still available when the locked down were slowly opening with restricted measure in place.

Many have lost their income and not sure what their futures hold. Graduated student were unable to find jobs, family not allowed to visit and the mental health were challenging during these times. Family were break apart and cannot meet one another. Love couples were being challenged. With countries shutdown, people are voicing their unhappiness, the homeless are hit the worst and the seniors are vulnerable against the virus. For an island-Singapore, we took almost a year before things looks better, with everyone doing their best to keep their distance in public areas. We are the few fortunate countries that have experience infectious virus in the country before and this time we are more willing to cooperator and know what we must do. Life may not be back to what we use to before the pandemic, but at least for now, we are confident that we are able to see it through until the vaccine is available.

Singapore was lucky, we have our network structure already in place, technologies and available in almost every household that even school continued during the locked down with some changes. Some industries were able to remain operational with working at home and stay safe. Wet markets, retails, F&B that adopted live steaming sales were explosive. At home, video calls was a daily affair, online application became a hit in high demand and retails with ecommerce platform thrived. The almost dying last mile fulfillment was revived and double up in requirement. People had came forward to show that they care and helping others in needs. Others use their skills like singing and performance online to keep the entertainment going and help keep the mind occupy.

While Singapore is slowly opening up, the other countries were in second waves of infection due to lack of information, preparation and education. Poor living environment and food shortage also contributed to the problem. While on the other hand, the shutdown that have stopped human, traffic and carbon footprint around the world have seen some benefits. Marine life flourish, wild animals were seen strolling around the street, plants expanding their territory. Greenery were seen and it brings joys to the bees and butterflies. You hear the birds chirping outside.

Life may not be the same to many, mindset will changed, people will learn and the country will grow to be stronger. May the world learn to co-exist and keep the peace.

Should I get a carrier bag for my pet?

What is a carrier?

A carrier is either a bag or a cage that you use as temporary to transport your pets around. Usually for a vet visit.

Why need a carrier?

Depending on your pets, some pet’s cage are too big to be used to transport the pet around. So a carrier is usually used for transportation. Carrier are usually around the size of the pet so that there’s limited movement and keep the pet secure and stable during the transportation especially when during seeking medical treatment.

Type of carrier available and suitable usage?

There’s a few type of carriers available in today’s market due to heavily commercialize in Pet’s accessories. Here, we will talk about 4 of the commonly found carrier.

1.       Carrier bag

This are more flexible and usually collapsible for easy storage, since carrier bag are not usually use on daily basis. This is usually good as it do not look like a cage and you can easily have this over your shoulder and take a public transport without much hassle.
Note: Do have additional backing / towel in the bag for better cushion and support.

2.       Carrier Crate

This are usually made of plastic with steel handle or opening. Some can be dismantle for easy storage or to handle your pet. Since this is solid carrier, you wont have concern that you may crash your pet compared to a carrier bag. You can also have some water bottle in the crate and use as a holding cage at the Vet if your pet need to be monitored. But it would be bunk and attract attention in public areas where pets are not allowed. Your pets can also get anxiety due to stranger and environment since they are able to look out from the crate easier than a carrier bag.

3.       Carrier box

These carriers can be made of plastic or carton paper. They are much smaller in size so usually for smaller pets and most of the time for short trips without much stretch out leg space for your pets. Usually use to fetch/transport pets from pet stores or to boarding house.

Here’s a video that give more details how you can use them.

Darling, please dont say anymore..

Song....

Always at the last moment, then you would know what the answer is. The play is not over yet, but the result already showing.

Always after you have love, then you would know how much you have sacrificed. Love is a no turning back, can’t we just let it go, just give it a miss.

Darling, please stop, I’ve changed so much.
Darling, please stop, I’m turning my heart cold.

I do not wish to love blindly and repeat the same mistake.
So, in your heart, I’m no longer the one you have once loved.

If we can start all over again, I really do not have the courage

The Familiar comforting the feeling you once gave, I no longer believe I will have that again, I don’t know if I ever will have that again.

Darling, please don’t use your tearful eyes to look at me. Darling, please don’t blame my silence.
Oh Darling, we have already missed too much.

//Love can never be rewind, even when we are back together there will definitely be some changes and differences from what we once used to. Either better or worst. So it really depends if you want to take the chances.

To build the trust and love again is not easy and you may end up hurting even deeper than you already are. Treasure your moments, as once it slips there's no turning back.

Take care, my beloved friends.

When it is harder than you have expected...

Falling in love comes without a signal, one would fall in love some times at one's most unexpected. Knowing someone from a total stranger to someone you have affection for can take just moments or years of friendship. What is yours?

No matter who you are, never say that you will never fall in love again, as you would never know. I've once given up on relationship as I never seem to meet someone that love me enough. I guess I was not a great lover but better as a friend. That's why I have a better chance of getting good friends than lovers. Maybe it was never meant to be. Everywhere I go, people that I met that have interest in me, seems to have a different agenda in their mind. I met more that prefer my looks and body than who i am. They dont know me well enough and I was not as open-minded as i should have.

After all, lovers tend to get intimate after a period. I was more of a conservative nature and mainly thanks to my brought up. I treat intimacy seriously. So at some points, I am sensitive and got angry easily when my lover advances their approach in a relationship. I would back away and in any case, I show anger towards them, and subsequently, I have gone missing and leave the relationship.

After these many years, I am still a better friend than a lover. When any feelings get involved, it gets complicated. I have gone in too quickly and I hurt my lover badly. I blame myself for all my past relationships. It was never their fault, it has always been me. I am not able to make sure what i want and demand too much attention than i needed and I scare them away with my no reason sudden anger towards their words and touch. which no relationship would be successful since one party cannot really be open towards one other how and why they feel this way.

I know now and it would be hard for me to change. I regret every one of my relationships, since the end of the day I, myself believe, I was the cause of the failed relationship. And i always use my anger to fend myself and get myself out of a relationship only to regret it when i cooled myself. While my lovers were too lost to know what they have done and most were not mature enough to know me well and make me understand.

Until today, I try to be open-minded as much as i can, thinking that age and experience would have help. But then, i was disappointed that I have done it yet again, got myself angry over little things. No one would be expected that a little teasing would trigger anger in me. Today, I kept thinking over and over again, why I have done what i did. Am I not ready to accept this relationship or am I afraid of something? I know I felt really bad, regretful, and even frustrated with myself after that. I don't even understand myself so how can I forgive myself for what I have done. My lover have no reason to be treated the way I did. My lover has every reason to be disappointed with me, even if he have said goodbye, I have no rights to ask him to stay since I was the one who asked him to leave me alone in the first place. Maybe I will be alone from now on, until maybe I find someone that really know me enough to be there and support me on this flaw of mine.
I am still waiting for someone who would accept who I am and be there even when I did wrong. Be there by my side even when i got angry, because end of the day, I am angrier with myself than at them.

I was selfish, ignorant, and always so angry. I hurt my lover and I kill the relationship. I blame myself.

I never really settle down my mind to be with him, I created a situation that made me frustrated and pushes the blame. For this, I am saying sorry and goodbye. I hope you find someone that really loves you.

Goodbye.

When it is time to let go.

In a love relationship, once the journey started we never know how the story will go until we reach the end. With lots of love, compromise, and even sacrifice, some love comes to the end till both left for the other world. While most others than to last only a few weeks, months, or years.

A friend of mine said to me, if she sees any potential possibility of a breakup, she would never go into a relationship. For example, a habit, behavior, lifestyle that she doesn't like about the guy. This avoids wasting youth and heartbreak. Yes, you may find that she would have lost the love of her lifetime but it is a choice she made. And it also makes sense, when you feel some feelings going on, you should put some rational logic in place to counter fight off any fling and lure. You don't want to fall in and then start hurting yourself to overcome something you hate and thinking that your love will give up a habit for you. The saying, a leopard will not change its spots, and a zebra will not change its stripes.

Preventing yourself from getting in a wrong relationship is the first line of defense one should have. Go through his/her good and bad, is that something you can accept, compromise, and put down. Go through it in your mind and see if you can live with it. If she smokes, imagine yourself with her meeting your friends, relatives, or parent and after a while or meal, she went for a smoke. Can you accept that? It wouldn't be a problem if you smoke too. :-). But you get my point what I mean here. Or she is divorced and you should prepare that she is more sensitive in a relationship and it means some hardship in getting her trust that your love for her.

I would suggest writing down the list and if you decide to go fore with the relationship, use that as a reminder, never use that as an excuse to break it off as you had already considered it. And if you had used it for an excuse, re-think, it may be something else that had trigger the thoughts to use that against yourself. We all know that when one in love, things get complicated, two-person coming together, different backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles, and families do play a part. The world is changing by the minute, Circumstances changes, and people change. A bad-tempered man would change to a calm loving and thoughtful father in front of his little girl.

Still, it all up to you to make the choice, there is no right or wrong. It depends on how you want to move on from there. Look at the list when you are in doubt, remind yourself of your initial decision, and if you have already considered the possibility and the relationship still did not work out?  Maybe it is time to let go, be rational as you have already tried your best. Have a good sob, a good dessert always help, list activities for the next few days, something out of your comfort zone, new excitement will push you to relieve your thoughts and hurt from a failed relationship. Feel like shouting it out? Have you tried karaoke? That's one of the good ways, a few sad songs and move to some fast pace songs to feel the mood that you can face the new world again.

Someone I know is more down to earth, he starts calling his group of school mates for a meetup after a long journey failed relationship, end up heading out tour with a few closer one and catch up with his old friends got over his relationship.

I hope this helps a little if you are still trying to figure if you should be in or out of a relationship. When the heart can't make the decision, let the brain work rationally and decide for yourself.

No one can make that decision for you. Only yourself.

Achievement of the day.

Today, achievement is managed to get him to tell me a question I’ve asked and cooling him down in a short period of time.

This morning when I send my son to school, the teacher after checking his hands and mouth, try to stop him from taking the torchlight away. He usual would take it and off the torchlight and put it on the table as a routine.

My son got angry, and end up he throw the torchlight across the hallway, luckily no one was hurt. I have to get him to pick up and put on the table and walk to his class. When he enter the class, he went to pick up a pencil case and step hardly on it. I try to stop him, he pick it up a few times wanting to throw it across the hallway again. I managed to stop him, pull him near me, and ask him who’s pencil case is this. After asking a few times, he mumbled “Cheng Hao, ……pencil case”

After, I had to calm him down and say don’t be angry and it is not nice to throw things and especially not your things. Gave him lots of hugs until finally cool down and back to himself and send me out the gate(routine). My son just dislike this classmate of his, as this classmate love to disturb him, like pushing him from the back when he is doing something, kick him during toy snatching and take a toy/ book when he was not watching. Yes, I saw it with my own eyes that this classmate did them to him. So I do understand why my son choose this classmate pencil case and did what he did when he got angry, but then, this classmate did nothing of that sort today which is the problem.

More help and work need to be done for my son not to do that and i hope he get it and understand soon. He is already six, it would be hard to make friends if he dont learn to social fast. While me, as a Mother would always be worried on his development progress and his social interaction with people is my major concern.

My son was diagnose with Mild ASD when he was 3 years old, however, I know of his special needs since he was 2. Yes, he have some challenges but I believe he will learn to behave in public when he grow older. He is given ABA therapy to cope with his tantrums which had affected daily lifestyle and since has help a lot. Now he is six and would required speech therapy as he is not willing to express his emotion freely and interaction via communication with people is affecting in his school environment.

When Valentine's Day is over...

Yesterday was Valentine's Day, it was also Chinese Lunar 7th day of the New Year. In the Chinese saying it is the birth of mankind, so the Chinese celebrate this day and some treat it as Chinese Valentine's day where you celebrate the birth of yourself and your loved ones.

Valentine's day has been fully commercialize in today's world. Couples are expected to celebrate widely their love of one another, while some take this opportunity to propose for marriage. However, Valentine's day(VD) is only a day in 365 days of the year. If you love one another, everyday would be a VD. Would you want everyday to be full of pain and hurt and have a great wonderful day on VD with the person you loved? I believe NO. Yet some people would expect the lavishing gifts, candlelight meals, flowers and maybe music for this so called special day. For me, I would rather have my loved one, loved me whenever he can, give me a treat or two when we are having a celebration. Not show me how he love me because it is VD.

If he love me, he would show me daily, without the need of any gifts. He is able to love me as I am, and still love me on things that he dont like about me. I guess, that is enough to me. So if you dont receive anything on VD, it's alright. Think about it, does it mean he love you less? Does he not show his love for you on any other days? try to self check, out of 365 days, how many days does he show his love for you. That my friend is what you should measure.

Enjoy every moment, every day with the one you love. And hope they love you too, not hurting you.

Advice from lyric of an old song.

An old song that I love, most of the time during then, I dont understand the meaning of the song since I was too young to really know what it means.

After all this year, I realize that the song lyric had gave some good advice on life. Today, I realize that no matter what happen in your life, it just a path, a story that you live in....

I try to simple the lyric for easy understanding as it is originally a Chinese song..

Towards life, you don’t need to be doubtful.   Life, on it own, is originally be expected to be like a movie.  Ending of the story, is it sad or is it unhappy, you, yourself will be the final decision to it.
Looking at dawn, it raise with Hope.  Footprints of the day have no waiting, till the stars and moon enter your dream, life would become more beautiful.

In work, how much unfairness came across, let’s make use of tomorrow to forget about it. In the journey, there’s always a lot of unjustified came upon, turn to bits and pieces, let them be forgotten in your memories.

I cannot forget the lost that happen in my past, but I need to face myself. In Future, how should I go upon and replace, I will fight for it everywhere.

In the moonlight, buried away the emotion, It make people lost in the chapter of their movie. Brew a cup of coffee, quiet down your busy path and let me tell you my story.

From this song, i understand that no matter what happen to you in your life, it is you who decide if it has been a sad or happy ending. After years has passed, it is like a movie that needs to have ups and downs. or it would not be called a life.

Be your own judge if you have live a full life with pits and falls. or a quiet smooth life that no one would want to know about?

Relationship

The start of a relationship is full of wonders, every moments shared is beautiful and every thoughts of your lover make life so sweet. Cherish every moments and experience together looking forward each day for a greater time tomorrow. But have a clear mind once a while and ensure that you are not being fooled by your own thoughts, over expect what the future would bring and destroy your moments. Enjoy every moments in the present and be sure that the lover is the one. You know you are both going somewhere together when you can say anything without care comfortably and knowing that you won't be offending the other.

Many times we are fools by our desired and passion that have make believe things that are not, this jeopardize our relationship and putting pressure on our lover. And in the end, suffer the consequences of ending a good relation. Tell what you feel and not pretend to love everything that he/she love as in the end it would cause hurt and distrust. If you are not suitable for one other, have a good chat, maybe you can compromise to make it work. Give it time and thoughts, if it don't work out, it's better to split then worn both of you further. One side will need to be sensible to make it right. A lot of people stuck together for too long and even though there's been being lots of unhappiness they still end up with each other. They are so used to one other that they don't want to leave,  sometimes couples like this argued and grow old together. Some unlucky one don't, they usually end up splitting. while the unfortunate one, force themselves to stay together even after knowing the other party having an affair.

It would be easier when both have similar passion like hobbies, lifestyle, background and culture. Otherwise, it would be a great challenge but we have heard a lot of great successful stories of couples living till old age from different religion and races. One can never imagine how much love and compromise that they need to go through to make it work. I empathy those who are married by matchmaking and had suffered. While I also honour the fact that people I know grow to be in love till the end. Understanding, compromise and forgiveness comes along with your initial passionate love to keep it going and staying together.

May all relations comes out fruitful. May those that yet to have a relationship, find a great someone tomorrow.

Thoughts after watching....Walter Mitty

Life is full of mystery and secret that need us to understand and discover. We may be lost, down and miserable, but it is through these paths that we learn and shape what we are today to face challenges for tomorrow. Giving up may not be a choice than maybe take a step back and take a break. Clear your mind, then pick yourself up and be ready to fight your best what comes your way. Sometime when the brain is at rest it would help to find you a solution or idea.

If you are at dead end and needed help, why not talk to a friend? And when they can offered help, great. If they may not be able to help, it's ok, telling someone of what you feel may make everything seems differently and no longer a big deal. We only have this lifetime to do what's right and fight for. Why not do it whatever you have, all the way till you die of old age.
